Château de Saint-Ulrich

Yo! Your Hott Boi here! We talking about the Alsace region of France today. More specifically Château de Saint-Ulrich, situated in the Vosges mountains. This bad boi right here be looking super sexy stripped down and dirty.

One of three castles right next to each other, the other two being Girsberg and Haut-Ribeaupierre.Château de Saint-Ulrich was built in the 11th century by the Lords of Ribeaupierre, the castle was used as a defensive structure at a choke point in the Vosges between the Alsatian plain and the high valley of Lièpvre.

These dudes were your typical richies. Stepping on the townsfolk and squabbling amongst themselves like turds in a hammock. The Habsburgs eventually tried the whole boombox-at-the-window routine (aka seige warfare) a couple times, but to no avail. Guess that’s one castle they didn't get to stick their dicks in.

There is a fun story about two Ribeaupierre brothers. One brother lived in Saint Ulrich and the other in Girsberg. They would wake each other up by shooting a crossbow bolt into the shutter of the other’s window. One day the older brother woke up early and opened his shutters just as the other fired a bolt. The brother lay dead, heart pierced. The younger brother went insane from grief and wandered off into the woods, where he succumbed to starvation. Unable to forgive himself even in death, the townspeople say he still haunts the ruins.

By 1525, though, the people became fed up with the feudal lords and rebelled. Hailed as the Great Peasants’ Revolt, this rebellion engulfed Alsace and parts of neighboring Germany and Switzerland. During this time the castle was most likely sacked before being completely abandoned after the Thirty Years’ War.
